Lankota Custom Truck was formerly owned and operated by the Drake family. Roy F. Drake Body and Equipment Company was started in the early 1900’s as Shotwell-Dempster which operated until 1937 at which time the company became Dempster-Drake.
In 1942, Drake and Dempster split and had since been owned and operated by the Drake Family. In 2002, Drake Equipment was acquired by American Equipment Corporation, with Drake remaining as a partner in the organization. In 2008, Lankota Group purchased American Equipment Corporation assets, including Drake Equipment.
